About Amish Country Traditions

What we do:
Amish Country Traditions is a family owned business that grew from our friendship with an Amish neighbor who needed a new outlet for her quilts and crafts. We began with one show and gradually added more shows and craftspeople. Now we travel across the country
and carry items from over one hundred crafts people. Most items
are sold on a consignment basis and are handmade by Amish, Mennonite or other select crafts people from Lancaster County.
Most shows are two-day events, running Friday and Saturday.

What we sell:

About half of our floor space is dedicated to quilts and wall hangings. We carry both traditional and the more contemporary styles.
We sell quilts in all bed sizes including twin, full, queen, king and California king. We also carry a limited supply of antique quilts.

Crafts and furniture occupy most of the rest of the show space. We carry a wide variety of crafts including toys, dolls, rugs (hooked and woven), decorative hoops, clothing (aprons, hats, T-shirts), jewelry, pottery, wrought iron, pillows, candles, tin, kitchen accessories (potholders, spice mats, place mats, napkin holders, etc.), Christmas items, shelves, knickknacks and many other items. Our furniture is mostly smaller accent pieces such as coffee and end tables that our customers can fit into their cars. Most of our furniture is oak or pine.

We also carry some art and books (mostly cookbooks, quilt books, or books on the Amish). We also sell some quilting supplies such as stencils and fabric packs. We also have an extensive collection of non-perishable foods, such as jams, jellies, mustards and noodles.

About the owners:
Amish Country Traditions was founded by Carol Fish. Through her job as a visiting nurse, she became friends with a number of Amish including an Amish woman just up the road from her own home. As this friendship grew, Carol realized that her neighbor and many other Amish she knew were quilters or craftspeople and were looking for new places to sell their items. From this need, came the idea to take some of the quilts and crafts on the road to new customers.

Today, Amish Country Traditions travels across the country bringing a little bit of Lancaster County with it wherever it goes. Nowadays, the organization is run by Carol's son, Craig. In addition to being the father of triplets, Craig's other claim to fame is that he was an extra in the film "Witness". If you watch the movie, you can see him in the funeral scene early in the movie. He's dressed as an Amish man and standing in a doorway looking very sad with other "Amish" mourners. He's on screen for about two seconds.
